Our Mission
Based on John 10:10 where Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full," our Christian mission - Older Adults Living Life to the Fullest - drives us to create senior living choices that embrace community and encourage opportunity for engaged, independent-minded older adults.
The LSS purpose statement - Centered in Christ, together we create places, services and opportunities for people to age well with purpose and fulfillment - further extends our calling to serve; while our values permeate everything we do:

Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) offers a full continuum of care for older adults with everything from life-plan communities to affordable housing communities and in-home services. Serving older adults in the metropolitan St. Louis area since 1858, LSS remains committed to helping older adults live their best life wherever they call home.
LSS Life Plan Communities offer maintenance-free independent living for older adults with priority access to comprehensive continuum of care if health needs change. Nine communities through Missouri and Illinois offer independent living, assisted living, memory care, care center and short-stay rehabilitation to meet the various needs in different stages of life for older adults. These communities enable older adults to transition seamlessly in quality care, enrichment activities and amenities.
LSS Affordable Housing offers apartment living for more than 800 older adults on limited incomes. Residents lead active and independent lifestyles thru various programs. Project Wellness brings a wellness nurse to the residents to check vitals, discuss concerns and offer referrals as needed. Senior Connections Plus is another program which provides companionship and non-medical services to residents in LSS Affordable Housing communities. Specially-trained volunteers are paired with residents to visit twice monthly to offer companionship, assistance with light housekeeping tasks, and help with digital communication thru smart devices (ipads, tablets, etc.). This program allows older adults to increase their ability to live independently and social opportunities.
Home & Community Based Services meet older adults where they are with compassionate in-home care. This includes Hospice care, Private Duty services, medical care thru Home Health services and Aging Answers. LSS Aging Answers is a comprehensive program to address the needs of older adults and those who care for them. It provides care management on a sliding scale based on one's ability to pay, including an in-home assessment of needs, education on resources, and/or coordination of referrals. Older adults who are considering care options, facing financial uncertainty, or navigating major life transitions can find help - and hope - in LSS Aging Answers.
